THE STORY OF DREW HARRIS PHOTOGRAPHY

Hi, my name is Drew Harris. I am a published portrait, fashion and lifestyle photographer based in London.

I have always had an immense passion for visual art, wether this was fine art, fashion or graphic design. However, my love for portrait photography started about 7 year ago when I enrolled onto a photography course at Lambeth college and picked up a camera for the first time. At first, this was a daunting venture for me as I am colourblind (believe it or not) and have trouble identifying and grouping certain hues of colours. I started by only taking photos in black and white to help me throughout my early days of photography but I was taken back by how easy it was to tell a deeper story through monotone photographs more than any other forms of art that I have experienced in the past. I started shooting lifestyle, weddings and documentary photography which eventually led me on a path to capturing personal style and portraits, where I could showcase the stories of different people from all backgrounds and their individuality through fashion choices, style and different environments. My urge for taking photos eventually led me to obtain a BA at Kingston University. Years later, I have now developed my skills to a professional standard, overcame my struggles with non-monochrome photos and have worked with countless models, outstanding brands and memorable events which further drive my love for photography.
